You may request not to have an ingredient in your order due to an intolerance or simply the taste of an ingredient. You can indicate this at checkout. At step '2. What is the best way to get started with the Bee Brunch Box?

If you are not yet used to eating a lot of unsalted nuts and seeds, your body needs some time to get used to this. In this case, we recommend starting with the bulk package and adding about 30 grams (2 tablespoons) to your meals.

In the beginning, also experiment with combinations of fruits that you really like. That way, you'll make sure you keep eating this healthy boost.

Once are used to nuts and seeds, it is better to replace your breakfast and/or lunch with the Bee Brunch Box. You can do this with the 600 Kcal packs or about 6 tablespoons (about 90 grams) from the bulk. The advantage of the small packs is that the ingredients are in the right balance.

How many packages do I need?

Just as you only see progress with exercise with exercising at least twice a week, we recommend that you also consume a Bee box at least twice a week.

Furthermore, there is another important science-based measure. Get an average of 30 grams (2 tablespoons) of unsalted nuts and seeds daily. This amounts to one bulk pack per month.

What does packaging consist of?

Our packaging used to consist (and the new packaging consists) of purely organic materials. However, this does not have much impact, because processing compostable packaging takes too long for waste processing plants. Therefore, regardless of whether it is organic material or not, it is better not to throw the packaging in the organic garbage, but simply in general trash.  Indeed, waste processing companies would otherwise have to add the packaging back to normal waste to burn it, thus generating higher emissions. Therefore, it is better to throw it directly into the normal waste.

As an alternative, we are currently working on getting subscription holders to zero waste. We will use a deposit model with preservation glasses for this purpose.

What are you doing for our nature?

We are doing our part to combat bee mortality. Without the existence of bees, it is estimated that humans can only survive another 4 years.

We work with organic ingredients whenever possible. We aim to reduce waste by reducing our subscriptions to 0 waste, and we spend part of our income on processes and projects that reduce bee mortality. Also, the new packaging is 100% biodegradable.

What can I do if I don't like it that much?

Nuts and seeds taste a little earthy. To make sure you consistently continue to consume these important foods, we recommend adding fruits that make you happy.

If you really don't like an ingredient, tell us during your order (see the question "How can I not have an ingredient in my order?" how to do this). We will then prepare a specially adapted version for you!

If the consistency or lots of chewing bothers you, you can use a mortar or blender to crush the mixture. That way you can eat it more easily. The disadvantage of pulverizing is that you take away the health benefits of chewing. Also, you are supposed to consume it immediately because the nutritional values are lost quickly after pulverizing.

Can I add honey to the meal?

In principle, you may do this, as long as you don't do it too often. Fruit already contains enough natural sugars. If you use honey too often, you will ingest too many sugars. We recommend adding honey a maximum of once a week. Also keep in mind that high consumption of honey puts a lot of pressure on the global bee population. Always choose honestly produced honey, preferably from a local beekeeper.

What fruits can I use?

That's entirely up to you! You can completely vary it. Choose one (or more) fruits to your taste. Fruit is a real palate booster for your breakfast. Just be careful not to eat too much fruit. One piece or two handfuls with your meal is enough.

You can also add frozen fruit the night before. This is often cheaper, less sprayed on and often doesn't need to be cut.

Here are some examples of fruits you can use (note: list is not exhaustive):

Apricots, avocado, strawberries, apple, pineapple, banana, blueberries, blood orange, blackberries, lemon, grapes white or blue, dates, raspberries, galia melon, pomegranate, guava, currants, cherries kanzi, kiwi, lyches, lime, mango, mandarin, nectarine, nispel, passion fruit, pear, plums, papaya, peach, orange, tamarind, figs, watermelon.
